Megan Bowker is the principal at the Law Office of Megan N. Bowker. She is an active member of the State Bar of California and is licensed to practice law in California State Courts, the United States District Court, Central District of California and is a United States Department of Veterans Affairs Accredited Attorney.
Megan is a member of numerous professional organizations, such as the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, Northern Santa Barbara County Bar Association, Santa Barbara Women Lawyers, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, California State Bar Trusts and Estates Section, California State Bar Solo and Small Firm Section, and the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Megan also volunteers as a board member for the Youth Leadership of Lompoc Valley and as a youth basketball coach for the Cabrillo Youth Basketball Association.
A native of Montana, Megan moved to Vandenberg Village in 2009 when her husband was transferred to Vandenberg Air Force Base. While in Montana, she dedicated more than a decade to public service which included holding several positions within the Montana Department of Corrections. During her tenure at the Department of Corrections, Megan worked as a Contract Monitor, providing contract oversight for prison beds and also held the historic position as the department’s first Prison Rape Elimination Act Coordinator, implementing statewide policies, procedures and training curriculum addressing and eliminating prison sexual assault. She also served as an Adjunct Instructor at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, teaching courses in Security Threat Groups and Prison Sexual Assault.
After moving to the Central Coast in 2009, Megan and her husband Chris fell in love with the Lompoc Valley and decided it was the perfect community to plant their roots and raise their three children. As such, in October 2015, Chris retired from the United States Air Force after twenty-two years of active duty service, officially making the Lompoc Valley the Bowker’s home for more than just a PCS cycle.
Megan graduated from the University of Great Falls and earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Corrections. She earned her law degree from the Santa Barbara College of Law. While in law school, Megan interned at the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office and for Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge James F. Rigali.
Megan resides in Vandenberg Village with her husband, Major Chris Bowker, USAF Retired, and their three children.
